FedEx Follows Amazon Into the Robotic Future – The New York Times

FedEx has taken steps toward a robotic future with its autonomous robots. Jefe, one of the five machines, is used to transport large and unwieldy packages around one of FedEx’s facilities. All of the machines work next to humans, and the company plans to expand the use of robotic labor in the coming months.

Facebook announced the release a new subscription feature to attract more video creators. Its goal is to help creators make money from their Facebook followers. The subscription will cost $4.99 per month, and Facebook won’t take a cut, at least during the test period.

Instagram launched international shopping posts, after a year of shoppable posts in America. Users in U.K., Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Italy, Spain, and Brazil can purchase directly from unpaid brand posts on their feeds. The global expansion will help drive the conversation to a wider audience, allowing retailers to reach a larger percentage of the platform’s 800 million active users.
