Barco Uniforms, the nation’s leading premium healthcare apparel company, commissioned a Los Angeles street artist to paint a mural honoring frontline medical professionals with an uplifting message: You Bring Hope. Though the plans had been in the works for a few months, painting commenced the week of December 14, the same week that the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were being administered to hospital workers.

Samir Arghandwall, who goes by the name Evol, will soon finish his project — a stunningly realistic depiction of health care workers that honors them as true superheroes battling COVID-19 and treating patients. Evol is renowned for his ability to capture facial expressions and emotion. Barco commissioned the artist through a partnership with Beautify Earth, a nonprofit that connects artists, landlords and funding sources to convert our world’s outdoor wall spaces into public art galleries, which have proven economic and social benefits for businesses and communities.

The mural is scheduled to be complete in January 2021, but Evol’s work in progress has captivated media around the world. In less than a month, the agency’s efforts surpassed eight billion impressions. Photographers from the Associated Press and Reuters uploaded their images to Shutterstock and Getty Images, making them instantly accessible to millions of international viewers.
