CLIENT REQUIREMENT

POSITION: ACCOUNTING / TAXATION CLERK

An excellent entry level position for the Accounting professional with interest in the area of Sales Tax for Industry leader. Good career progression!

As the Taxation Clerk, you will be responsible to prepare and file government returns, analyze GL accounts and perform internal audits of sales tax, environmental tax and tobacco tax issues.
Description of daily tasks and responsibilities

- Update of the tobacco tax program.
- Preparation of sales tax, environmental tax and tobacco tax returns for several provinces.
- Analysis of tax reports in order to ensure warehouse compliance.
- Perform the reconciliation of GL accounts.
- Actively communicate with Issaquah, the buying department, the warehouses and government entities.
- Perform tax audits.
- Preparation of journal entries/payment vouchers.
- Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have strong financial and accounting skills. (candidates will be tested)
- Good knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications (Word, Excel) is required. (candidates will be tested)
- University or college degree with a major in Accounting or Finance is a definite asset.
- Bilingualism, written and spoken (French/English) is an asset.
- Good analytical skills.
- Sales tax and audit experience is a definite asset.
- Knowledge of database management is a definite asset.
- Ability to effectively communicate with others.
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Autonomy, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work with deadlines and under pressure.

SALARY:

Starting salary range of 39-42K plus full benefits etc.
