The Pollack Group Executive Search has a rewarding opportunity for a Director of Professional Practices. Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Professional Practices is responsible for developing the organization’s operational objectives and mandates in accordance with the Board of Directors directives. The incumbent is responsible for providing leadership to the division staff, enabling them to accomplish the division’s strategic and operating objectives specific to all practical practices such as the certification program, examination content & registry, code of ethics and all related policies/ procedures. Responsibilities: • Directs and guides the strategic development of the professional practice supports and programs • Participates in strategic planning and coordinates budget development and expenditures • Oversees the development of quantitative and qualitative reports, briefs, speaking notes, fact sheets and briefing material related to current and emerging issues in education and practice • Leads the development of policy positions on education and practice in response to direction from the board, consulting as appropriate stakeholders and with issue experts • Defines and assesses options for responses to new initiatives and programs in the environment • Supports the creative development of national and international partnership opportunities to leverage programs strengths and secures appropriate business development expertise to guide program growth • Oversees the implementation and monitoring of programs for examination and practitioner entering practice and seeking national certification in specialty practice • Oversees the implementation and monitoring of program for the maintenance and promotion of the code of ethics Qualifications: • Undergraduate degree in nursing, social science or related field • Master’s or PhD degree in social science (or other relevant field) • Registered nurse • Ten years’ experience in public or private sector in a related field (health or social service sector) • Experience with board government organization; exposure to policy analysis and development • Extensive knowledge of and experience with current research and research methods • Strong leadership and team-building skills; strategic thinking skills and strong analytical skills • Excellent writing and communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) • Experience with board governance in a not-for-profit organization • Experience in managing a large-scale national program • French / English is an asset Full job description can be provided.
