THE POLLACK TOTAL APPROACH: APPLICANT GUIDE TO SUCCESSFUL INTERVIEWING

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE INTERVIEW:

1. BEFORE YOU GO:

Prior to leaving for your interview, get to know all you can about the company. Review their website, brochures, press releases, etc. It could be a valuable ice breaker.

Remember first impressions are important; they will have a definite bearing on the entire direction of the interview. Look eager, and well groomed. If you are a technical "Wizard" dressing casually is acceptable. If you are being interviewed for an office or sales position, a suit or sport coat is your best bet.

Get as much information as possible about the position in advance. This way you will be better prepared for the interview before you even get there, and you won't be as nervous.

Get to know what criteria the interviewer will be using to evaluate you. The words "what, how, how often, when, and how well" will be used.

2. ONCE YOU GET THERE:

Remember first impressions are vital to your success, so be on time.

Greet the receptionist with a smile and have great enthusiasm. She/he might have been told by the boss to observe your behavior.
